Tawi Lodge

Tawi Lodge is on a private 3,000-acre conservancy, five minutes from Kimana Gate, the eastern entrance to Amboseli National Park, at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro. The lodge overlooks a waterhole visited by elephants, giraffes and zebras through the day and night. From the conservancy you can take game drives into Amboseli or explore Tawi's own land, where guided nature walks, bird walks, night drives and camel walks are possible. It's a small lodge for up to 30 guests, in 13 cottages and one suite. Each faces Kilimanjaro and has a log fireplace for cool evenings. Meals are served in the main dining room or the garden, and tea and coffee are brought to your cottage at sunrise. The heated swimming pool and sun decks overlook the waterhole, and there's an outdoor hot tub, a spa and a lounge bar with a fireplace. The day ends with sundowners at a different spot on the conservancy each evening. The lodge runs mainly on solar power and holds a Gold eco-rating from Ecotourism Kenya.
