Depending on your itinerary, your package can include handpicked safari lodges or camps, private game drives in a 4×4 Land Cruiser, park and conservation fees, an experienced English-speaking safari guide, meals as specified in your itinerary, airport transfers, and daily safari activities. Every itinerary is tailored around your travel dates, interests, pace, and preferred level of comfort.
The cost of a Kenya safari depends on the time of year, number of days, accommodation level, number of travelers, and destinations included in your itinerary. For example, current Marvels of Africa itineraries show different per-person prices across Deluxe, Premium, and Luxury options, so there isn't one fixed price for every safari. We create custom Kenya safari packages based on your travel plans and provide a clear, personalized quote before you book.
Kenya is a fantastic safari destination throughout the year, but the best time depends on what you want to experience. June through October is popular for excellent wildlife viewing and the Great Wildebeest Migration in the Masai Mara. January through March can also offer excellent game viewing, with greener landscapes and generally fewer visitors. If the Great Migration is your priority, we'll help you plan your travel dates around the part of the migration you most want to see.
Yes. Kenya is an excellent destination for seeing the Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino—in their natural habitat. Your safari can include some of Kenya's best wildlife areas, including the Masai Mara, Amboseli, and Lake Nakuru, depending on the itinerary you choose. With private game drives and an experienced safari guide, you can spend more time looking for wildlife and enjoying the experience at your own pace.

US travelers need to meet Kenya's current entry requirements before traveling. Kenya uses an Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA) system for eligible foreign visitors, and requirements can change. We'll help you understand the documents and travel requirements you need to prepare before your Kenya safari. We recommend checking the latest official Kenyan entry requirements before departure.
Most US travelers begin their Kenya safari by flying into Nairobi, Kenya's main international gateway. Depending on your departure city in the United States, you can choose from different international flight connections. Once you arrive, we can arrange airport pickup and coordinate the rest of your safari, including road transfers or domestic flights when appropriate.
For a first-time Kenya safari, we generally recommend around 7 to 10 days. This gives you enough time to experience several destinations without spending your entire trip traveling between parks. A longer itinerary could combine the Masai Mara, Amboseli, Lake Nakuru, and Lake Naivasha, while a shorter safari can focus on one or two key wildlife destinations. Marvels of Africa currently recommends 7–10 days on its broader Kenya safari offering.
Absolutely. Combining Masai Mara and Amboseli is a great way to experience two very different sides of Kenya. Masai Mara is famous for its abundant wildlife and the Great Migration, while Amboseli is known for its large elephant populations and spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro. We can build a private itinerary around both destinations and add Lake Nakuru or Lake Naivasha if your schedule allows.
Our Kenya safari experiences are private and tailor-made, allowing you to travel with your own safari vehicle and guide rather than following a fixed group itinerary. This gives you greater flexibility over your game drives, photography stops, daily pace, and overall experience.
