Frequently Asked Questions

The Wonders of the Wild Safari can be enjoyed year-round, but the best time is generally from June to October and January to March, when wildlife viewing is at its peak. These months offer dry conditions, making animals easier to spot as they gather around water sources. Amboseli is especially spectacular during clear weather, with stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro, while the Masai Mara delivers exceptional game viewing throughout the year, including the Great Migration from July to October.

This safari offers outstanding wildlife diversity across three iconic regions. In Amboseli, you’ll encounter large elephant herds, lions, giraffes, and plains game set against Mount Kilimanjaro. Lake Naivasha is rich in birdlife, hippos, and grazing herbivores along the shores. The Masai Mara is home to the Big Five, cheetahs, hyenas, and vast herds of wildebeest and zebra, ensuring thrilling game drives and unforgettable wildlife encounters.

You can look forward to a delicious mix of local African flavors and international cuisine throughout your safari. Most lodges and camps serve buffet-style meals, but depending on the number of guests and occupancy, they may also offer a set menu with freshly prepared dishes by the chef. Expect hearty breakfasts with fruits, cereals, eggs, and baked goods, followed by flavorful lunches and three-course dinners under the stars. On full-day game drives, lodges often provide packed lunches, which are convenient but come with limited options — typically sandwiches, fruits, snacks, and juice. Special dietary requests — including vegetarian, vegan, Indian, halal, or gluten-free meals — can usually be arranged with prior notice. In general, the better the lodge, the more elaborate and refined the dining experience, often featuring gourmet presentations, fine wines, and personalized service.

Yes, this itinerary is ideal for first-time safari guests. The route is well-paced, with a balanced mix of game drives, scenic journeys, and relaxation. Comfortable lodges, experienced professional guides, and diverse landscapes — from open savannahs to lakes and wetlands — make the experience immersive without being overwhelming. It’s a perfect introduction to Kenya’s wildlife and natural beauty.

This is one of the most common questions — and a very practical one! While exploring Lake Nakuru and Masai Mara, there are generally no permanent restroom facilities inside most parts of the parks, as these are natural wilderness areas. However, your guide will plan comfort stops at designated safe points, such as ranger stations, picnic sites, or specific rest areas where facilities are available. For longer game drives, especially in the Masai Mara, your guide can also arrange discreet “bush stops” in safe, private spots when needed. Morning and afternoon drives are usually scheduled around your lodge or camp, so you’ll have access to proper restrooms before and after each outing.
